Top 10 budget in Sydney

Cameron Highlands - Malaysia

Where is always green

The majority of our trip will be unplanned and as many independent’s travellers (not to confuse with holiday’s makers) we will turn up on a location to find a place to sleep for the same night.

But there will be some exceptions mainly for the first nights on where we will land like for Hong Kong furthermore cause is going to be new year when we will be there and we would like a nice bed after such as a long flight and not wondering around going mad for search a good place.

So we are looking now to book a place to sleep in HK. Nathan Road and Tsim Sha Tsui are where you would find the most budget accommodation among guest houses and hostels right in Kowloon the main tourist area.

I am still trying to convince Christian to make a stop here so it is even more a big challenge and I am a bit worry to found a “reasonable good” accommodation on our budget.

A mecca for budget travellers is Chungking Mansions which is a building with many different hostels inside plus lots of shop but to a quick outside look , the shocking pictures of the inside and the bad reviews I went through, it looks to be worst that the place we used to squat in London next to the Arsenal Stadium.

Maybe it just the appearance or maybe it just me but I am not getting a good feeling about this

So after I bit more of digging I found apparently some others good options:
Bridal Tea House (they have several locations around the city);
Dragon Hostel ;
Cosmetic Guest House;
Star Guest House/Lee Garden;
Alisan Guest House;

If you could stretch your budget to rafly £70-100 per room per night, I rode good stuff about the Metropark Hotel Kowloon and I could recommend the Eaton Hong Kong as my friends have been there and they say it is a fantastic location and a great hotel too, but unfortunately we would have to pass it in this occasion as not fitting in with our budget.

For prices contact first always the hotel as well as discount hotel website:

These are just a few but make sure you look at the price inclusive of all fee and taxes otherwise you will occur a 10% service charge and a 3% government tax on top of the rate for most hotels in the city and sometimes could be tricky as it would only show when you only process the booking, so bear this in mind.
