The Moeraki Boulders, Hampden Beach south of Oamaru – New Zealand South IslandContrarily of what I first thought, those almost spherical boulders are not the result of the erosion of some great forces instead of 4 million years of a slow natural process accumulating mud, clay, fine silt and calcite. Some of these boulders weight several tons.
