It is the World Heritage listed largest Sand Island that is all sand but yet not a desert. It has a plethora of breathtaking fauna and flora and an equally mesmerizing number of water and animal life including the famous Australian dog Dingo.

Tourists can take nature walks, dip into the crystal clear lakes and creeks and sail alongside dolphins, turtles, dugongs and sharks.

Or visit the Maheno Shipwreck to hear about Eliza Frazer who is said to have lost her husband and child and was taken captive by local Aborigines.

The Cathedrals, Champagne Pools, Eli Creek, Wanggoolba Creek, Rainbow George, Indian Head, Happy Valley, Orchid Beach, Cathedral Beach and The Pinnacles are other tourist attractions on the island.

Frazer Island has wonderful staying options ranging from tents pitched at campsites to villas and luxury hotels. All vehicles have four wheel drive facilities to cope better on the sandy surface.
