Magnetic Island: A Schoolies Spot

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Schoolies are Australian High School graduates who spend a week away from their parents and regular domestic life in one or the other Schoolies destinations to celebrate the official end of school.

The practice was started in the 1970s in Queensland but is being followed in a number of new locations within the country.
Magnetic Island has recently become a major Schoolies Week destination owing to its safe and secure celebrations.
There are a number of beaches for youngsters to enjoy the sea and picturesque walking trails for an ultimate experience with nature.

Magnetic Island also offers kayaking; sky diving, jet skiing, water skiing, scuba diving and snorkeling to name just a few water sports. Then there is a chance to come up close and personal with aquatic wildlife such as dolphins, sea turtles and eagles.

If that’s not all the myriad nightlife avenues and restaurants are jewels in the crown.
