Things to keep in mind while travelling with infants

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Are you planning to go on a family vacation but worried about your tiny one? Here are some tips to ensure you have a smooth journey with the infant.

Try to leave for the outing before your child goes to sleep. As a result they will fall asleep during the drive ensuring an almost uninterrupted journey. If you take out a sleeping toddler he might wake up the moment your car starts making the driving miserable. Do not stop nursing if the baby is under it. It would help to calm them in a new situation. While travelling it is important to take a few breaks so that the child gets fresh air.

Make a travel schedule and try to follow it sincerely. Your child takes time to adjust and any little change in their routine would cause discomfort. Try to avoid strenuous and long sight scenes. If possible take your nanny with you and also your paediatrician’s number. Do not forget to take a first aid box too.
